In this talk, given in Zürich, Switzerland on 22 November, Vint addresses the current status of the Internet, some of the technology changes that are driving its evolution, and some of the global policy issues that have to be dealt with.
Interesting part related to Real-Time Economy can be heard from 42:40 and forwards. He talks about the economics of digital storage, processing and transmission, and how things change as we move closer to real-time.
Was surprised to hear that 15% of our video consumption is in real-time, live broadcasting. Would have estimated at much less than that. Very interesting presentation by Vint Cerf. Did not like the Saffran example though, seemed like an ordinary yellow pages to the net and then a traditional phone call case.
