Thank you all for the 40 ideas we received for Social Media Challenge! There were many great ideas submitted and it was hard to narrow it down to final five.
The following ideas were selected to the final round:
1) Mihael Cankar & Laura Turkki - Improve service processes with peer-to-peer tweets2) Marja Käpyaho - Dynamic Support Tree 3) Jaakko Jäätmaa - Scrum-based social networking service4) Miika Perä - Distributing incentives and resources by social graph and organizational data layers5) Evgeny Paradeev - User-generated systems
The objective of the final round of this competition is to give students the possibility to present their idea in greater detail to the judges. The finalists have been contacted.
The winning idea will be announced in the beginning of December.
So it was a hoax the whole competition? Nice!
The whole deadline changing and all seemed quite suspicious to me and now I hear that the finalist here are not given any awards? I've heard from a finalist that the finals were in fact not the finals at all and the prizes are not for this competition but a totally different competition that was never mentioned anywhere.. How can RTE expect to have any participants on future competitions when their credibility is at this level??
This is from the Social Media Challenge - FAQ:
"As the main prize, we give out a 5,000 € cash prize for the winning team. In addition, we areproviding the finalists with a Dell Netbook. Please note that local taxation laws apply."
As I see it, all the finalists should have already been provided with the Netbooks, and the winning team should have received the 5000 EUR prize. Can somebody show me how this can be interpreted any other way?
By the way, the FAQ also says that the judging deadline is December 1 2009. So who "won" the competition?
haha sue them!
